Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Cats' Musical Extends Hong Kong Run Due to Overwhelming Demand
Hong Kong theatre lovers have spoken — and the Jellicle Cats are staying longer! Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical Cats, which opened at the Grand Theatre of the Xiqu Centre in West Kowloon on August 6, 2026, has extended its Hong Kong season to September 13 following an enthusiastic audience response.

Dates: Now through September 13, 2026
Showtimes: Tuesday to Sunday at 7:30pm, with additional weekend matinees at 2:30pm
Venue: Grand Theatre, Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon Cultural District

Since its world premiere in 1981, Cats has been staged in over 30 countries, translated into 15 languages, and seen by more than 73 million people worldwide. The musical features an unforgettable score by legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber — the creative mastermind behind The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
