Taipei's signature summer event, the 2026 Dadaocheng Summer Festival, returns on August 15 at Yanping Riverside Park and the Dadaocheng Wharf area. The evening will feature a spectacular fireworks display and drone light show starting at 8pm, illuminating the Taipei skyline in a must-see summer celebration.
Traffic Control Details
Surface Roads: From 7pm to 11pm on August 15, flexible traffic control (vehicles exit only) will be enforced in the area bounded by Liangzhou Street (south), Yanping North Road (west), Chang'an West Road & Zhengzhou Road (north), and the Huanhe Expressway (east). Controls may expand to Minquan West Road, Chongqing North Road, and Guilin Road depending on crowd levels.
Water Gates: Gates 1 through 6 will be closed to all vehicles from 3:30pm to 11pm on August 15.
Elevated Roads: From 6pm to 11pm, eight ramps north of Zhonghua Road on the Huanhe Expressway (including Huajiang Bridge and Zhongxiao Bridge northbound ramps) will be closed. The Civic Boulevard east-to-west off-ramp to Huanhe North Road will be closed from 6pm to 10:30pm.
Bridge Pedestrian Access: Pedestrian access on Zhongxiao Bridge and Taipei Bridge stairways and sidewalks will be restricted from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
Parking Advisory
The riverside parking lot between Water Gates 3 and 5 will be fully cleared from 12pm on August 14 through midnight on August 15. Numerous street parking spaces along Minsheng West Road, Chang'an West Road, Tacheng Street, Huanhe North Road, Yanping North Road, and Chongqing North Road will be suspended from 10am to 11pm on event day.
Recommended Detour Routes
Southbound: Take National Highway 1 connecting to Songjiang Road and Jianguo North Road.
Northbound: Use Zhongxiao West Road, Guilin Road, or Aiguo West Road, connecting to north-south roads east of Zhonghua Road.
Westbound: Use Chongqing South Road, Chengde Road, or Zhongshan South Road.
Visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transportation to avoid traffic and fully enjoy this dazzling summer night in Taipei!
