After 15 Years: Japanese Lifestyle Brand Loft Returns to Hong Kong with Year-Long Pop-up at Moko Mall
After a 15-year hiatus, beloved Japanese lifestyle brand Loft is making its triumphant return to Hong Kong! Following the recent arrival of 3Coins, Yaichi Group is bringing the popular variety store chain back to the city starting this August — fantastic news for fans of Japanese goods.

Founded in 1987 as an offshoot of Seibu Department Store's Shibuya location, Loft has grown into one of Japan's largest lifestyle brands with 183 stores nationwide. Known for its incredible range spanning stationery, beauty products, home goods, travel accessories, and trendy gadgets, Loft has long been a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists in Japan.
Loft first entered Hong Kong in 1990 at Pacific Place, later expanding to Admiralty, Central, and Causeway Bay. It became a beloved shopping destination for Hongkongers until its departure in 2011. Now, after more than a decade, Loft is staging a surprise comeback with a year-long pop-up store at Moko Mall in Mong Kok, opening in late August 2026.

This means Hong Kong shoppers no longer need to fly to Japan to get their Loft fix. The pop-up is expected to carry signature Loft categories including stationery, beauty products, home accessories, and travel goods — and may even feature Hong Kong-exclusive items. For Japanese culture and lifestyle enthusiasts, this is hands down one of the most exciting retail announcements of the year!
