Central Music Fest 2026 Brings Japan's Hottest Acts to Kuala Lumpur

SaveJ-Pop fans, take note: the Yokohama-born Central Music Festival made its much-anticipated return to Kuala Lumpur on 1 August 2026, transforming Zepp KL into a showcase of Japan's most exciting musical talent. Headliners included rock powerhouse Kana-Boon, viral sensation Tatsuya Kitani, the hauntingly powerful ReoNa, alongside Jo0ji and opening act Kiora.
After a successful Malaysian debut in 2025, the festival continues its mission of bringing Japanese music to global audiences, with KL standing proudly alongside Yokohama and Taipei as one of its three key Asian host cities.
Kana-Boon: The Anime Rock Icons
Osaka's Kana-Boon needs little introduction for anime fans. The band has soundtracked some of the genre's biggest moments — from the iconic "Silhouette" (Naruto: Shippuden) and "Starmarker" (My Hero Academia) to "Song of the Dead" (Zom 100). Their latest release, "Supernova," serves as the opening theme for Dr. Stone: Science Future's second season.
Tatsuya Kitani: From Viral Hit to Global Stage
Tatsuya Kitani skyrocketed to international fame with "Where Our Blue Is," the achingly beautiful opening theme for Jujutsu Kaisen's Hidden Inventory arc. Beyond his solo career, he remains active as part of the music unit GEMN, cementing his status as one of anime music's defining voices.
ReoNa: The Voice of Sword Art Online
Known for her strikingly emotional vocal style, ReoNa has become synonymous with the Sword Art Online franchise, earning a devoted global following in the ACG (anime, comics, games) community.
