What began decades ago as a casual pasta dinner among friends has blossomed into one of central Italy's most beloved food festivals, drawing thousands of visitors each year from across the region and beyond. The event is organized by the Pro Loco Ascrea association with support from the Municipality of Ascrea.
What's on the Menu
From noon until midnight, the undisputed star of the show is handmade egg fettuccine bathed in a creamy white sauce with porcini mushrooms — served alongside grilled bruschetta, local sausages, beans, and regional wine, all beneath a large covered tent set up for the occasion.
This year's exciting addition is a live show cooking demonstration by Riccardo Canacci, the festival's long-time official pasta supplier from his artisanal workshop "La Fettuccina" in nearby Rieti. Watch the master at work as he crafts fresh fettuccine by hand — then taste the results straight from the pan.
Evening Entertainment
From 7 PM onwards, the "Moretti Band" takes the stage, filling the village square with live music that will have everyone singing and dancing. Meanwhile, visitors can wander the cobblestone streets to discover the "Installazioni Murali" photography exhibition, set against Ascrea's breathtaking panoramic views. A local artisan market with regional products rounds out the offerings.
A free shuttle bus service runs from the provincial road to the village center, with staff on hand to assist.
