Kaohsiung Summer Vouchers Launch July 29: Get NT$30 Off Just by Taking the Ferry, Attending Concerts, or Staying Overnight
Save big on your Kaohsiung summer trip! The Kaohsiung City Government is launching the inaugural "Cijin × Hamasen Summer Vouchers" campaign, offering NT$30 vouchers that connect transport, accommodation, concerts, and shopping districts. From July 29 through August 30, visitors can claim vouchers simply by taking the ferry, attending a concert, staying overnight, or shopping — all designed to boost the local economy of Cijin and Hamasen.
During the campaign period, visitors can receive one NT$30 area-exclusive voucher by: taking the ferry from Gushan Ferry Pier or Pier-2 Warehouse to Cijin Ferry Pier; attending a concert at Kaohsiung Music Center; staying at hotels or B&Bs in Cijin or Hamasen; or spending NT$100 or more at Shinhamacho Ocean Kitchen.
Redeem vouchers at participating shops across Cijin and Hamasen shopping districts and Shinhamacho Ocean Kitchen — use one voucher per NT$100 minimum spend, with cumulative use allowed. Shinhamacho Ocean Kitchen has sweetened the deal further: present same-day cumulative receipts of NT$100+ to receive a voucher and a complimentary folder, and enjoy an instant NT$60 discount when using vouchers in-store.
Economic Development Bureau Director-General Liao Tai-hsiang noted that Kaohsiung has been leveraging major events to drive tourism and consumption in recent years. This summer, the city is extending its concert-economy strategy into an "event-consumption economy" by launching these vouchers alongside the Cijin Kite Festival, encouraging visitors to plan 2-day, 1-night trips with discounts on dining, accommodation, and transport.
The "Cijin × Hamasen Summer Vouchers" campaign runs from July 29 to August 30, daily 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Vouchers are distributed at Gushan Ferry Pier (with paid ferry ride), Kaohsiung Music Center (with concert ticket), Shinhamacho Ocean Kitchen service counter (with NT$100+ purchase), and participating Cijin/Hamasen hotels and B&Bs (based on guest count).
