Caprarola Hazelnut Festival Celebrates 70 Years with a Rich Programme
The Sagra della Nocciola di Caprarola (Caprarola Hazelnut Festival) reaches its landmark 70th edition and marks this historic anniversary with a completely free programme. For twelve days the town will host concerts, live shows, cultural events, family activities, tastings and entertainment capable of drawing thousands of visitors from across central Italy.
The 2026 edition aims to celebrate local tradition alongside headline events, cementing the festival's status as one of Lazio's most eagerly awaited summer events.
Radio Globo Summer Party and 'Back to the 90s' Light Up the Festival
Among the festival's most anticipated events is the Radio Globo Summer Party, on Saturday 22 August with Eureka Casa as official sponsor. The evening brings DJ sets from Riccardo Di Lazzaro and Jacopo Saliani, plus official radio entertainment, live broadcasts, giveaways and a large street food area.
On Friday 28 August, "Voglio Tornare negli Anni '90" ("I Want to Go Back to the 90s") takes over, the famous format that revives the music and atmosphere of the decade with spectacular sets, performers, special effects and a playlist packed with the songs that defined a generation. Once again the audience can enjoy a long evening of music, fun and local specialities.
Spectacular Parades Tell the Story of "Willy Nocchia and the Hazelnut Chocolate Factory"
Two of the festival's signature moments are the big folkloristic parades on Sunday 23 and Saturday 29 August. After last year's success, the narrative format returns to turn Via Filippo Nicolai into a vast open-air theatre.
This edition's theme is "Willy Nocchia e la Fabbrica di Nocciolato", a tribute inspired by the famous Chocolate Factory story. Monumental floats, hundreds of performers, costumes, music, sets and special effects will accompany the crowd along the route, where visitors can taste hazelnut products for free and discover three food areas dedicated to street food and traditional dishes.
Nomadi Close the Festival with a Grand Free Concert
The grand finale is on Tuesday 1 September with a free Nomadi concert in the evocative setting of Piazzale di Palazzo Farnese. The legendary Italian band will bring the 70th-anniversary celebrations to a close with an emotional evening that ends in a firework display, a fitting send-off for an edition destined to go down in the festival's history.
The Festival Showcases the Region through Food, Shows and Tradition
Beyond the big music events, the festival offers the Via della Nocciola (Hazelnut Road) tasting space, the Miss Mondo Lazio regional selection, theatre, sports events, children's activities and many more appointments throughout the celebration.
Organised by Classe 1986 with the collaboration of the Pro Loco di Caprarola and the patronage of the Municipality of Caprarola, the event remains one of the most important showcases for hazelnuts and the traditions of the Tuscia region. All events are free to enter, offering an ideal way to discover the area through music, culture, gastronomy and fun.
