3 Must-Try Things to Do in Cijin, Kaohsiung

Cijin in Kaohsiung keeps getting better: hop on an adorable orange-cat themed ferry, hike the refreshed Cihou trail to a lighthouse cafe with sea views, or relax at a beach bar watching the sunset. Here are 3 must-try experiences.

1. Mikan Stationmaster Themed Ferry

Kaohsiung Metro and Kaohsiung Ferry Company have turned the popular mascot "Mikan the Stationmaster" into a themed ferry shuttle running between Jhan-Er-Ku (KW2) and Cijin. The themed sea-bus runs every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday — a must for cat lovers.

2. Cihou Hiking Trail & Lighthouse

The Cihou hiking trail has been repaved, making the climb easier and safer. The Cihou Lighthouse, perched atop Cihou Hill and facing Xiziwan and Shoushan across the harbour, is Taiwan's first lighthouse open at night, complete with a cafe for coffee and sunset views.

3. Cijin Beach Bar

For a laid-back sea-view break, the Cijin Beach Bar has become a hit with international travellers. Located right by Cijin Beach, it serves international food and drinks, with front-row ocean views that make you feel like you've flown abroad.
