Jiangmen

Jiangmen (official romanisation: Jiangmen, traditional foreign names: Kongmoon, Kongmun, Kiangmen), also known as Sze Yup, Ng Yap, and abbreviated as Yup, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province. Located in the southern part of Guangdong Province, it is one of the cities covered by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Jiangmen has a long history and profound cultural heritage. The cultures of the Five Districts (Ng Yap) and the overseas Chinese hometowns exude unique charm. It is renowned as the "Capital of Overseas Chinese" in China and is also one of the representative cities of Cantonese culture. The region of Ng Yap boasts a deep foundation in Chinese opera culture. Examples include the pioneer of Cantonese opera revival——the famous actor Kuang Xinhua from Kaiping in the late Qing Dynasty, the "Four Great Dan" and "Four Great Clowns" during the Republic of China period, as well as the artistic masters after 1949 such as Hongxian Nü and the famous actress Fang Yanfen from Enping. Qiming Li, located next to Yuejin Road, is one of the provincial-level tourism and leisure blocks. It is also an old neighbourhood with a century-old history of overseas Chinese. This area was one of the early settlements for overseas Chinese in Jiangmen. Following the urban quality improvement and revitalisation projects, the entire district has been transformed and has become a new popular check-in spot for locals in Jiangmen. It is rich in tourism resources: Kaiping Diaolou Cultural Tourism Area, Guifeng Mountain National Forest Park, Jinshan Hot Spring Tourism Resort, Xinhui Gudou Hot Spring Tourism Resort, Jinjiang Hot Spring Tourism Resort, Chuan Island Tourism Resort, Kangqiao Hot Spring Scenic Area, Shanquanwan Tourism Scenic Area, Naqin Peninsula Geological Marine Park, Dayan Mountain Scenic Area, and others.
