Kaiping Diaolou and Villages Cultural Tourism Area is located in the southwestern part of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province, in the hometown of overseas Chinese, architecture, art, and diaolou — Kaiping City. It covers a total area of 1,438 mu (approximately 95.87 hectares), mainly comprising: the World Cultural Heritage site of Zili Village Diaolou Cluster, Majianglong Ancient Village, and Liyuan Garden, a unique example of Chinese overseas Chinese garden.

It features not only ancient buildings such as villages, diaolou (watchtowers), Western‑style houses, residences, gardens, and villas, but also natural landscapes including rivers, hills, fields, lotus ponds, bamboo groves, and trees. Cultural relics, historic sites, and ancient famous trees are abundant, presenting picturesque views of countryside, small bridges, flowing water, and homes. The tourism resources are exceptionally rich. The traditional diaolou naturally integrate with the unique local village environments, forming distinctive characteristics of their own. Kaiping Diaolou has a long history and profound cultural heritage, hailed as "a masterpiece of overseas Chinese culture" and "a breathtaking corridor of architectural art."
