Kaiping Diaolou Cultural Tourism Area is located in the southwestern part of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province, in the city of Kaiping – known as the hometown of overseas Chinese, architecture, art, and diaolou. It covers a total area of 1,438 mu, and mainly includes: the Zili Village Diaolou Cluster (a World Cultural Heritage site), the ancient village of Majianglong, and Liyuan, a unique Chinese overseas Chinese garden.

It features not only ancient structures such as villages, diaolou, Western‑style houses, residences, gardens, and villas, but also natural landscapes including rivers, hills, fields, lotus ponds, bamboo groves, and trees. Cultural relics, historic sites, and ancient trees of notable value are abundant, while idyllic scenes of fields, small bridges, flowing water, and rural dwellings create a picturesque landscape, offering rich tourism resources. The traditional diaolou blend naturally with the unique local village environments, forming distinct indigenous characteristics.
