Kaiping Diaolou Cultural Tourism Area is located in the southwestern part of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province, in Kaiping City — the hometown of overseas Chinese, architecture, art, and diaolou (watchtower‑style houses). It covers a total area of 1,438 mu and mainly includes the Zili Village Diaolou Cluster (a World Cultural Heritage site), Majianglong Ancient Village, and Liyuan Garden — a unique masterpiece of Chinese overseas Chinese gardens.

It features not only ancient buildings such as villages, diaolou, foreign‑style houses, folk residences, gardens, and villas, but also natural landscapes including rivers, hills, fields, lotus ponds, bamboo groves, and woodlands. Cultural relics and ancient trees are abundant, presenting picturesque scenes of countryside, small bridges, flowing water, and idyllic homes. The area is rich in tourism resources. The traditional diaolou are naturally integrated with the local village environment, forming their own unique characteristics. Kaiping Diaolou has a long history and profound cultural heritage, hailed as "a paradigm of overseas Chinese culture" and "an awe‑inspiring architectural art corridor."
