The Amsterdam Museum is marking World Pride this summer with a series of exhibitions, artworks, and events hosted across different venues in the city.

Amsterdam Rainbow Dress at Nationale Opera & Ballet

The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress returns to the location where it debuted ten years ago. Composed of flags from countries where LGBTQIA+ identities remain criminalised, the artwork replaces a country's flag with a rainbow flag whenever legislation changes. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the dress is on display until 8 August 2026 in the exhibition Amsterdam Rainbow Dress – Unfolded Voices at Studio Boekman inside the Nationale Opera & Ballet. Panel discussions on art activism take place on 30 July and 6 August.

  • Location: Studio Boekman, Nationale Opera & Ballet

  • Dates: 25 July to 8 August 2026
