Organised in collaboration with Tate Britain and De Mesdag Collectie in The Hague, the exhibition explores Whistler's career as both a painter and a provocateur. Visitors can view his atmospheric Nocturnes and learn about his famous libel case against critic John Ruskin alongside his self-promotion efforts. The display also places his work next to the artists who influenced him and demonstrates his impact on a generation of European painters, including Van Gogh.
