Visitors to Vancouver aged 55 and above can take part in a three-part creative workshop series hosted by the Vancouver Art Gallery. Titled Art of Wellbeing for Seniors | Future Geographies, the program pairs guided gallery tours with interactive arts activities to foster connection and creative reflection.
Workshop Focus and Activities
The autumn 2026 series centers on the exhibition Future Geographies: Art in the Century of Climate Change. Small groups of up to 25 participants will explore the exhibits before responding through a blend of creative mediums. Guided sessions include physical movement, mark making, theater, and creative writing.

Each two-hour session ends in a private room within the gallery, where participants can socialize and reflect over refreshments.
Schedule and Registration Details
The program consists of three consecutive Thursday afternoon sessions, each running from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM on October 8, October 15, and October 22, 2026.

General Public & Access Pass Holders: $75
Ideas Members: $65
Experiences & Circles of Giving Members: $60
The fee covers entry and materials for all three workshops in the series. Because class sizes are strictly limited, advance online registration is required to secure a spot.
Behind the Program
Organized under the gallery's Art of Wellbeing Lab, the initiative was developed alongside Dr. Kathryn Ricketts from the University of Regina. Drawing on over 45 years of background across theater, dance, and visual arts, the workshops are designed to boost quality of life and engagement through arts-based experiences.
