【Attraction Tickets】Vancouver Aquarium Admission Ticket (Vancouver Aquarium)
Visitors in Vancouver can take part in a special inter-generational guided plant walk in Stanley Park, known natively as X̅wáýx̅way, on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. Organised in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the event provides a unique cultural and ecological learning experience led by Indigenous artist, ethnobotanist, and knowledge keeper Dr T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss.
Discovering Indigenous Plant Knowledge in Stanley Park
The guided outdoor walk runs from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, taking participants through the scenic natural landscapes of Stanley Park. Dr Wyss, who holds Skwxwú7mesh, Stó:l d;o, Hawaiian, and Swiss heritage, interweaves ecology, storytelling, and local Indigenous traditions throughout the tour. She will share insights on native flora that continue to sustain local ecosystems, incorporating language and traditional teachings from Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Stó:l d;o territories.
During the session, attendees are invited to observe environmental details such as textures, sounds, and colours to connect deeply with the surroundings. Dr Wyss brings her multi-disciplinary background in ethnobotany, permaculture, and Coast Salish culture to the experience, drawing on her residency at the Stanley Park Field House.
