FunBox Toy Store Outlet (Lih Ying International Clearance Centre)

The first stop is the FunBox Toy Store Outlet, a place where Taipei toy lovers can truly lose control! Run directly by Lih Ying International, FunBox Toys sells TOMICA cars, Beyblade, Pokémon and building-block vehicles, while the clearance centre focuses on discounted toys and a treasure-hunting outlet vibe — perfect for fans of licensed toys, figures and character merchandise.

Step inside and you'll see packed shelves of children's toys and educational board games, alongside figures, models and gashapon that adults can't resist. Many prices will make you wonder "is this from 20 years ago?" — it's a real test of wallet discipline.

It's great for families, couples or friends to treasure-hunt together. Set aside at least 30 minutes, because the truly cheap and interesting finds are often tucked away in the corners of the shelves.

Da Wang Shop

After FunBox, head to the rear station district and find Da Wang Shop hidden in the basement on Huayin Street. The entrance feels very "hidden-gem", but walk down the stairs and you'll be greeted by a warehouse of toys, gashapon, blind boxes, miniature house kits and assorted knick-knacks. The most addictive part is that many items are genuinely cheap and the variety is huge.

Da Wang Shop is ideal for fans of miniature models, dollhouses, mini food toys and gashapon blind boxes. More like a secret base that rewards slow, careful browsing than an ordinary toy store. If you're a blind-box or gashapon enthusiast — or just looking for an indoor rainy-day spot in Taipei — this one deserves a spot on your list.

Fu Yuan Pepper Bun

Time to refuel! The third stop is Fu Yuan pepper bun, a popular Huayin Street snack. Fresh out of the oven, the crust carries a sesame aroma, and each bite bursts with meat, scallion and pepper fragrance. At NT$65 each, it's the perfect first refuel after toy shopping. Since the buns take time to bake, ask about the next batch, wander nearby, and return when they're ready.

Huang Fu Long Crispy Scallion Pancake

The final stop is the hugely popular Huang Fu Long crispy scallion pancake near the rear station. Its charm lies in the crispy crust, fried golden and fragrant with oil and scallion; adding an egg makes it even more filling. With a sweet-savoury sauce and a touch of chilli, it's dangerously hard to stop. Save it for last, grab one to eat on the go, and stroll back toward Taipei Main Station, Q Square or the underground mall.
