A huge cocktail festival is coming to Toronto this fall
Toronto's top bars are uniting for a major cocktail festival this fall — but you'll need to move quickly to grab a ticket.
This October, the Toronto Cocktail Festival returns for a week of boozy bliss. Presented by The Alchemist Magazine, it showcases the best and brightest of the city's internationally acclaimed cocktail scene.
Unlike the street festivals that clog the city's main arteries all summer, this festival is a curated series of ticketed events designed to highlight the diversity of Toronto's bar scene.
It all kicks off with a cocktail-paired brunch at Casa Madera, featuring a four-course menu by Executive Chef Daniele Pisanu, cocktail pairings by Justin Helie-Masters, and a lineup of surprise guest bartenders.
Throughout the festival, you can join one of four neighbourhood cocktail crawls exploring top bars in Little Italy, the Fashion District, Bloor West, or Queen and Ossington.
Each crawl ticket includes one craft cocktail at every stop, plus chef-crafted canapés — and the chance to meet fellow cocktail lovers.
The festival culminates in the Gala of Cocktails, where Waterworks Food Hall is transformed with more than 25 open-bar stations from the city's best bars, all going all-out for Toronto's cocktail connoisseurs.
Alongside the drinks, expect bites from the Food Dudes and live DJ sets.
Beyond the marquee events, smaller happenings run at bars citywide all week. Daily cinq à sept happy hours will take over spots like Crybaby Gallery, 915 Dupont, Bar Banane and Mother Cocktail Bar, while industry-led seminars (to be announced) cater to those looking to sharpen their skills.
Tickets for the major events — the brunch, the crawls and the gala — went on sale online Saturday, Aug. 1. With a habit of selling out as fast as you can down a dirty martini, you'll want to snag yours ASAP.
