Abandoned Oil Depot Transformed Into Seaside Cafe at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf — Vintage Fuel Pump Steals the Show

Tamsui Fisherman's Image Museum (淡水漁文影像館) is a hidden gem perched beside Tamsui First Fisherman's Wharf in New Taipei City. What was once an abandoned oil depot serving fishing boats has been beautifully reimagined as a charming seaside cafe, complete with its original bright-red vintage fuel pump still standing proudly — now a popular photo spot for visitors.

Established on Valentine's Day in 2007, the cafe breathes new life into the old oil depot structure while preserving early fishing-era equipment and black-and-white photographs that tell the story of Tamsui's maritime past. The preserved water tower base next to the building has unexpectedly become one of the best vantage points for capturing Tamsui's legendary sunsets, drawing photographers who gather here every evening.
