Richmond Sunflower Festival Returns This Weekend with 20 Acres of Blooms
As August rolls in and summer starts its slow fade, one of Metro Vancouver's most cheerful traditions is making its comeback — and it's bigger than ever.
The Richmond Country Farms Sunflower Festival opens Sunday, August 2, showcasing more than 90 flower varieties including sunflowers, dahlias, gladiolas, and seasonal blooms spread across a sprawling 20 acres — double the footprint of previous years.
Organizers are billing it as far more than a floral display. 'It's a full summer experience: from scenic walks and yoga to farm-fresh market finds, local eats, and winery tastings,' the festival website promises, adding that it's ideal for 'families, couples, photographers, and flower lovers alike.'
The grounds feature stroller-friendly walking paths winding through the fields, dotted with photo-ready setups like flower wagons, rustic props, and other Instagram-worthy backdrops.
Beyond the blooms, visitors can enjoy tractor-pulled wagon rides, meet farm animals, sample rotating food trucks, and hop aboard the CP Huntington Train.
The festival operates Monday through Friday from noon to 7 p.m., with extended hours on weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are sold exclusively at the gate — no online sales or reservations available.

Admission: Weekdays — $12 for children and seniors, $14 for adults (13+). Weekends and holidays — $15 for children and seniors, $17 for adults (13+). Free for children aged two and under.
