Yamanashi Prefecture is surrounded by mountain ranges with elevations exceeding 2,000 to 3,000 metres, with Mount Fuji to the south, the Akaishi Mountains (Southern Alps) to the west, the Yatsugatake Mountains to the north, and the Okuchichibu Mountains to the east. Recommended natural parks: Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, Chichibu Tama Kai National Park, Minami Alps National Park, the foothills of the Yatsugatake Mountains, Aokigahara Forest, and the Fuji Five Lakes, among others.
