Art enthusiasts visiting Canada can catch an engaging talk at the Vancouver Art Gallery this autumn. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, visual artist Emily Hermant will discuss her work as part of Vancouver Now!, a new exhibition series celebrating artists with strong ties to the city.
Discover Art Made from Discarded Tech
Since relocating to Vancouver in 2016, Hermant has gained recognition for creating intricate, textile-like compositions using discarded electrical wires and data cables. Her art transforms technological waste into detailed physical creations that prompt viewers to reflect on the material systems underpinning digital communication.
Event Details and Ticket Information
The event takes place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Room 4East and the Rooftop Pavilion, with doors opening at 1:30 PM. The session features a presentation by Hermant, a 30-minute dialogue with exhibition curator Dr. Richard Hill, and an audience Q&A session.
Registration is required as capacity is limited. Ticket pricing details include:
General Public: $10 in addition to regular Gallery admission fees
