Art enthusiasts visiting Canada can experience a striking visual transformation at the Vancouver Art Gallery, where Glasgow-based artist, DJ, and musician Jim Lambie has installed his immersive artwork Zobop (Colour-Chrome) (2019). Running from 22 October 2025 through 12 October 2026, the installation is set inside the gallery's 1st Floor Rotunda.

Immersive Vinyl Tape Installation
As part of his acclaimed Zobop series originating in the late 1990s, Lambie transforms everyday architectural elements into an energetic visual spectacle. Using inexpensive, industrial vinyl tape in vivid shades of purple, pink, green, red, orange, and yellow, the site-specific installation contours directly across the stairs and floor of the neo-classical Rotunda. The concentric patterns respond to the space's geometry, creating a playful yet disorienting effect that turns a simple walk through the stairwell into an optical, psychedelic journey.
