GORDO to headline Toronto’s premium electronic music series
Producer and DJ GORDO is heading to Toronto next month to headline the second installment of the city’s new premium electronic music showcase series at Port Lands.
The Billboard No. 1 Hot 100 producer, best known for his work behind Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind, will bring his globally acclaimed Taraka brand and experience to Toronto on Sunday, Sept. 6.
Celebrated DJ and producer Francis Mercier will also join the musical venture, building on the success the series has already found at the new music destination.
In a press release, organizers shared: “Building on that momentum, the producers behind Black Coffee are partnering with GORDO’s globally acclaimed Taraka brand to present its signature experience on a scale and in a reimagined event format unlike anything currently available in Toronto, continuing their vision of bringing the world’s most influential electronic music artists to the city through immersive productions and elevated hospitality.”
Mirroring the format introduced during Black Coffee, organizers say a number of additions are “designed to further elevate the guest experience,” including expanded hospitality offerings and refined venue operations.
What to expect if it’s your first time
The reimagined venue features elevated VIP platforms wrapping around the stage in a 360-degree format, plus various hospitality partner lounges. Think arena-style, with the main stage ringed by those platforms and the dance floor at the center.
Guests can also look forward to multiple VIP tiers, a world-class production environment, an Ibiza-style presentation and a delicious menu from The Food Dudes.
Organizers describe Taraka as designed for a mature audience that “appreciates world-class music, premium hospitality, and an elevated event experience.”

Excited yet? Presale registration opens Aug. 6, with general tickets going live Aug. 13 at 12:30 p.m.
General Admission tickets start at $60, while VIP experiences begin at $110.
