Tamsui 'World Night' Fireworks Aug 23: 12-inch Shells Finale & Folk Music Concert

The second fireworks display of the "2026 Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf Summer Fest" kicks off at 8:00 PM with the "World Night" theme, firing over 10,000 shells for about 10 minutes alongside a river light show. From 6:00 PM, the "Next Stop, Sing Folk Songs" concert runs until 8:50 PM, letting visitors enjoy music and fireworks in one evening.

"World Night" Fireworks Highlights
According to the New Taipei City Fisheries Department, the "World Night" show opens with colourful fireworks, followed by wave-like low-altitude shells, meteor showers, gold-and-silver waterfalls, rainbow peonies and multi-layered shaku-dama, culminating in a 12-inch high-altitude shell finale. This year, river lighting shifts with the music, creating three layers of light from water surface to low and high altitude, turning the Tamsui River and night sky into a shared stage.
"Next Stop, Sing Folk Songs" Concert
Before the fireworks, the "2026 Next Stop, Sing Folk Songs" concert begins at 6:00 PM at Fisherman's Wharf, hosted by Golden Bell award-winner Hsu Che-wei and featuring singers including Ding Xiao-wen, Yu Guan-hua, Hu Yi-fen, Sangpuy, Ma Yu-fen, Ye Jia-xiu, Zhan Yu-zhang, Liao Bo-qing, Cyndi Chaw and Lan Li-ting, revisiting the golden age of Chinese folk music across generations.
Tamsui has deep ties to Taiwan's folk music, so the concert is specially held at Fisherman's Wharf, pairing familiar melodies with the riverside night view before the "World Night" fireworks—a summer evening of music, river scenery and fireworks from dusk onward.
Traffic Control & Viewing Spots
The Fisheries Department reminds visitors that traffic control will be in place around Fisherman's Wharf from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the day. Visitors are advised to take the MRT, Danhai Light Rail, Red 26 bus or the fireworks shuttle bus. Buses near the harbour will not enter the control zone; passengers should alight at the temporary "Tamsui Bus Terminal" stop and walk to the venue.
Viewing spots include Guanhai Plaza, the boardwalk and the harbour promenade, along the Youchekou to Tamsui First Fishing Port stretch, and the Bali Shihsanhang Cultural Park area. The Fisheries Department also announced a final "Harbour Midsummer" fireworks show on Aug 30, along with the North Coast Fashion Art Season runway show.
