Vancouver's first-ever Block Party Off Broadway is coming this August
Make the most of the summer days that are left! A brand-new block party is landing in Vancouver at the end of August, just off East Broadway — the first of its kind for this busy street. If you've been hoping to dance in the sunshine at another Mount Pleasant street party, this is your moment.
What to expect at the new Block Party Off Broadway
Hosted by the Mount Pleasant BIA, this free block party will serve up drinks from the Lido, live music all afternoon, vintage finds, hot dogs from the Dog Meister, and wrapped “blind books” from the Perfect Match Bookshop, all along Carolina Street just off East Broadway.
When is the block party?
The fun runs from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, right outside Anna's Cake House — a neighbourhood-wide event you won't forget.
Whether you stop by for some local vintage shopping, bring your pet to see Catoro Pets or Baby D's Home, pick up a bouquet from Blumen's, or sip a spaghetts (beer-Aperol cocktail) in the sun, you're bound to have a great time.
Are there any festivities going into the night?
Want to keep the party going? You can keep dancing at the Lido during their BC Hydra Rock n Roll night, where party-goers can expect a full night of hard rock, metal, and punk — all on vinyl.
What other summer parties are happening soon?
Looking for more free events before summer wraps up? Public Disco is bringing the party back to the Granville Street Pedestrian Zone on Aug. 18 and Sept. 2, with a free open-air disco on both days.
There's still plenty of fun to be had over the next couple of weeks to carry you into the season ahead.
