Once-in-a-Lifetime Eclipse Viewing at Catalonia's High-Altitude Mountain Stations

With less than a week until Spain's first total solar eclipse in 120 years, two of Catalonia's premier mountain resorts — La Molina and Vall de Núria — are pulling out all the stops for an unforgettable viewing experience above 2,000 metres in the spectacular Pyrenees.

La Molina: Cable Car, Vermouth & Live Music at 2,500m

La Molina is offering an experience unlike any other: a cable car ascent to 2,500 metres, where guests can watch the eclipse unfold against a panoramic Pyrenean backdrop, accompanied by vermouth, mountain gastronomy and live music. The musical programme features saxophonist Xesco Bruno and the band Mountains of Music, adding an artistic dimension to this astronomical marvel.

📌 Reservations must be made via La Molina's official website before 10 August. Spaces are limited. Complimentary certified eclipse glasses will be provided to all attendees.

Vall de Núria: Rack Railway to a Sanctuary at 2,000m

Guests staying at the Hotel Vall de Núria or the Vall de Núria Hostel can join a communal viewing gathering from the hostel esplanade, perched above 2,000 metres and accessible only via the Coma del Clot cable car. The remote, light-pollution-free setting guarantees pristine viewing conditions. Reservations must be made through the official Vall de Núria website; free protective glasses are included.

Can't Make It? Watch the Livestream

If you cannot reach either viewing site, the Montsec Astronomical Park (Parque Astronomico del Montsec) and the Ebro Observatory (Observatorio del Ebro) will broadcast the total solar eclipse live on their official YouTube channels, so astronomy lovers worldwide can share in this century-defining moment.
