L’Aquàrium de Barcelona celebrates its 30th anniversary with a comprehensive renovation that blends technology, emotion, and education, embarking on a brand‑new journey into the marine world. The first thing that catches your eye is Europe’s largest interactive digital floor, followed by an exploration of over 80 Mediterranean and tropical aquariums.

Key highlights include the SubAqua Explorer immersive experience space, Europe’s longest underwater tunnel (80 metres) with sharks swimming overhead, and themed exhibitions inspired by the Medes Islands and the Ebro Delta. Beyond the elusive seadragons and colourful tropical fish, the aquarium places a strong emphasis on the sustainability and conservation of the Mediterranean. 

 The new spaces are designed to engage visitors of all ages through interactive sensory experiences. Children can create their own digital fish in Aqua Protectors, explore the new mangrove area through fun learning, and take part in SOS Oceans, an emotional project that combines science and storytelling to call for ocean protection. Located at Port Vell, this fascinating attraction invites visitors to rediscover the ocean with all their senses, to learn, be inspired, and connect with the beauty and fragility of our blue planet.
