With the music silenced and lights dimmed, NIFREL transforms into a tranquil space unlike anything you would experience during the day. Watch aquariums flicker in soft illumination, observe the unique nighttime behaviours of animals, and even hear the flutter of bird wings — this is an experience designed to connect with all your senses.
While the summer heat blazes outside, you can enjoy a leisurely evening in this cool, comfortable, all-weather facility. A special highlight of the nighttime programme is the newly opened "Touching Poison" zone (launched March 18, 2026), where staff demonstrate how the venomous black scorpion glows under UV light.
In the sprawling art space "Wonder Moments," the music fades and stunning digital art projections illuminate the sphere and floor surfaces. Breathe in the natural fragrance evoking a night breeze and let yourself unwind. Every visitor receives an original glow-in-the-dark wristband as a keepsake.

Dates: July 31 - August 7, August 17-23, 2026 (18 days total)
Hours: 18:00-20:00 (last admission 19:00). Regular closing time is 18:00.
Location: NIFREL, inside EXPOCITY, 2-1 Senri Expo Park, Suita City, Osaka Prefecture
Access: 2-minute walk from Expo 70 Commemorative Park Station (Osaka Monorail)
Admission: Adults (16+) ¥2,400, Children (elementary/junior high) ¥1,200, Ages 3+ ¥700. Tickets must be purchased in advance via Asoview! or Webket. Daytime NIFREL tickets cannot be used for re-entry to this evening event. Annual pass holders may enter as usual.
