Toronto's New Waterfront Shuttle: Ride Across the Harbour for Just $5 This Summer

Exploring Toronto's revitalized waterfront has never been easier — or more affordable. The city's brand-new east-west water shuttle service lets you cruise between three scenic harbour stops without breaking the bank.

Launched in June as a pilot program, the seasonal service runs through September 7, linking the emerging Port Lands neighbourhoods with the downtown waterfront and the western harbour district.

The picturesque route connects three key docks: Portland, Yonge Slip, and the newly developed Ookwemin Minising island. Whether you're hopping between two stops or riding the full route from end to end, the views of Toronto's skyline from the water are worth the trip alone.

Here's the best part — until August 15, one-way tickets start at just $5, matching the discounted pricing offered during FIFA World Cup match days in the city. While you can grab a seat at the dock, booking online ahead of time is strongly recommended to skip the last-minute scramble.

The initiative grew out of the Sea Bus Feasibility Study and is slated to operate for an initial three-year term, hinting at a more permanent fixture on Toronto's transit landscape.

Daily operations run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. You'll find the Portland stop at 585 Queens Quay West, the Yonge stop at 1 Queens Quay East, and the Ookwemin Minising stop at the south bridge near 242 Cherry Street.

Heading onward to the Toronto Islands? Partner water taxi operators are stationed at all three docks, making it easy to extend your harbour-hopping adventure.
