Product Details

Perched by the river, it harbours millennia of elegance; strolling along the waves, one savours the serene beauty of Guilin — Fubo Hill, this exquisite solitary peak standing on the banks of the Li River, is a core gem of the "Two Rivers and Four Lakes · Xiangshan" 5A‑level scenic area, and a perfect epitome of the fusion between Guilin's landscape and human history, long renowned as the "Fubo Scenic Wonderland."

Half resting on land and half plunging into the river depths, its elevation of 213 metres is not towering, yet with a momentum that "curbs the torrent and halts the backflow," it tames the surging waves, hailed as the "Guardian Deity of the Li River." The legend of General Fubo Ma Yuan of the Eastern Han Dynasty, who campaigned south to Jiaozhi and safeguarded the region, endows this hill with profound cultural heritage. People built a shrine and named it in his memory, making Fubo Hill a "Land of Peace" bearing wishes for safety.

Stepping into the scenic area, you enter a landscape painting that shifts with every step, where mountains, waters, caves, rocks, courtyards, and cultural relics coexist in harmony, each twist and turn bringing delight. Beneath the archway inscribed with "Fubo Evening Rowing" by Mr. Chu Tunan, one can almost envision the ancient scenes of fishing boats singing at dusk and bells tolling amidst serene hills. The verse from Peng Ershu's poem, "Mooring the river boat at the foot of Fubo Hill," gently flows through the green hills and blue waters.

At the foot of the hill, the millennium‑old iron bell in the Princess Bell Pavilion stands quietly. This 2,524‑kilogram heavyweight is engraved with the "Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra" and timeless inscriptions, bearing the filial devotion of Princess Heshuo Kong Sizhen. The Thousand‑Man Cauldron by the riverside corridor, cast during the Kangxi reign, bears the scars of cannon fire, marking the vicissitudes of time. The folk saying, "Walk around the cauldron once, and wealth shall abound in heaps," adds a touch of earthly charm.

Within the Huanzhu Cave lies the very soul of Fubo Hill. Inside this 127‑metre‑long karst cave, 219 cliffside statues across 45 niches and 108 stone inscriptions gleam brilliantly. Particularly precious are the self‑portrait and annotations by the great Northern Song calligrapher Mi Fu, whose surviving ink treasures have permeated the cave with fragrance for a thousand years. The Sword‑Testing Stone, hanging a hair's breadth from the ground, also known as the Zhuangyuan Stone, carries the legend that "when the stone connects, a top scholar will emerge," witnessing the glory of Guilin's eight top scholars.

By the Guishui Pavilion, the verse of Fan Chengda — "I wish to draw the river's flow to meet the Milky Way" — still echoes, embodying the ancients' hopes for peace and happiness. Ascending the peak for a distant view, the Li River winds like a ribbon, the mountains loom in indigo hues, and a gentle breeze sweeps across the Tingtao Pavilion, offering a complete panorama of the breathtaking landscape where mountains and waters embrace.

No need to venture deep into the mountains or chase distant waves — come to Fubo Hill, tread the ancient stone steps, marvel at the rare cliffside treasures, listen to legendary tales, and among each mountain and water, each stele inscription, each bell and cauldron, come to understand Guilin's ethereal beauty and profound depth, embarking on a millennium‑spanning rendezvous with landscape and culture.
