Nagoya City (Japanese: 名古屋市／なごやし) is a city located in the western part of Aichi Prefecture (Owari region) in Japan. It serves as the prefectural capital of Aichi, with a population of approximately 2.3 million, ranking fourth among Japanese cities after Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka. It is also the core city of the Chukyo Metropolitan Area, one of Japan's three major metropolitan regions. The Nagoya Festival has been held annually on the first weekend of October since 1955, making it the largest festival in Nagoya. Notable historical sites in Nagoya include Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Jingu. At the top of the “Midland Square,” the tallest building in central Nagoya located in front of Nagoya Station, there is an open-air observation deck called Sky Promenade. From a height of 215 metres, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Nagoya cityscape, making it a popular spot for couples and photography enthusiasts.
