PaidChiayi Prison was founded in 1922. Since a new prison has been opened in Lucao Township, the old prison has been transformed into a prison museum. Today, the museum still retains the furnishings and environment of the previous prison, allowing the public to experience prison life and showing everyone the results of Chiayi Prison's preservation and reuse. At the same time, it is also the location for more than 50 movies and TV series.
