Barcelona's famed Sagrada Família is celebrating the city's annual La Mercè festivities by hosting its Open Doors Days and giving away 20,000 free tickets to the public. The special event aims to welcome visitors into the iconic landmark and highlight the ongoing progress of its construction.

Visiting Hours and Registration

The free visits will take place over four days, running from 24 to 27 September. On 24, 25, and 27 September, visitors can enter between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, while on Saturday, 26 September, entry hours will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. To secure a spot, interested visitors can register for a ticket draw online through an official form until 20 September at 9:00 pm. Winners of the draw will be notified starting 20 September.

Exhibitions and Highlights

Lucky ticket holders will follow a comprehensive touring route through the landmark. The itinerary takes guests through the Nativity façade, the grand interior of the Basilica, the Liturgical path, the museum, and the Passion façade. As part of the commemorative Gaudí Year programme, guests can explore the special photographic exhibition titled 'The power of a shared dream', which details the collective history, challenges, and effort behind the Basilica's ongoing development.

Additionally, this year's event introduces a new highlight in the materials yard. Visitors will get a preview of three specific sculptures destined for the exterior of the Chapel of the Assumption. The display features statues of Saint Joseph Oriol, Saint Roch, and one of four angels designed to crown the dome and hold the Virgin Mary's blue mantle.
