Adrenaline seekers visiting Toronto can now step out onto the CN Tower for the EdgeWalk, North America's first hands-free walk around the circumference of the building. Located 116 storeys high, it holds the title as the world's highest full circle hands-free walk, offering expansive views across Canada's largest city, Lake Ontario, and the Toronto Islands.
The EdgeWalk Experience
The entire outdoor adventure takes roughly 90 minutes, which includes 30 minutes walking on the exterior platform. Participants start at the ground-level base camp for orientation before heading up to the Summit Room, located two storeys above the Main Observation Level. After being harnessed to an overhead rail system, visitors begin their walk around the tower starting above the 360 Restaurant.
Every EdgeWalk ticket package comes with several extras, including:
A certificate of achievement
A video of the walk
Two printed souvenir photographs
Access to explore the rest of the CN Tower, including The Top
Practical Visitor Tips and Rules
Participants should plan to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled slot. Upon arrival at the entrance plaza, bypass the general ticket lines and head directly to the Main Entrance to undergo security and health screenings and to complete a liability waiver. Walkers aged 13 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during check-in to sign the consent form.
Personal belongings such as phones, wallets, keys, and removable jewellery are not allowed on the walk and must be stored in provided lockers inside the tower. Essential eyewear can be worn using lanyards supplied on site.
What to Wear
EdgeWalk supplies a full-body Walk suit to wear over personal clothing, as well as weather-appropriate gear like jackets, hats, and gloves when required. Participants are required to wear fully enclosed, lace-up footwear such as running shoes; appropriate shoes can be provided on site if needed.
Special Events and Gift Options
The attraction caters to various group events, including team building, graduation outings, reunions, birthdays, pre-wedding parties, and marriage proposals. Visitors can also pair their walk with a meal at 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower. Gift certificates are available for purchase and remain valid for one year from the date of issue.
