Hanoi has been ranked the world's second friendliest city for customer service in a 2026 global survey by MoneySuperMarket, finishing behind only Edinburgh, Scotland, with a positive customer-service rating of 58.6%.

Why Hanoi stands out
Hanoi was the only city in Southeast Asia to make the top 10. The ranking credited the Vietnamese capital for its friendly staff and attentive service, noting that this hospitality reflects Vietnam's long-standing cultural values which emphasise community spirit, social harmony and welcoming guests.
How the ranking was compiled
MoneySuperMarket analysed more than 100,000 customer reviews of businesses — including restaurants, attractions, entertainment venues and leisure activities — across 107 cities worldwide.
Vietnam has consistently been voted among the world's 10 most welcoming countries in recent years, and Southeast Asia is widely regarded as one of the friendliest regions for travellers.
