August in Barcelona brings a special atmosphere, when the tarmac and balconies give way to neighbourhood imagination. This 2026, the Sants district once again dresses up to celebrate its eagerly awaited Fiesta Mayor, turning its ordinary streets into entirely different worlds thanks to the handiwork and dedication of its people.

This year, a total of eleven streets and squares take part in the traditional decoration competition that defines the essence of these festivities. From tributes to animated cinema and local history, to social causes and journeys through time, the neighbourhood committees have prepared a route full of visual surprises.

All the themes, street by street

Variety rules this edition, with settings that take you from the heart of Paris to the mystery of the drawers in your own bedroom. Here are the eleven themes dressing the Sants district:

• Alcolea de Dalt: a recreation of the historic Montjuïc racing circuit.

• Alcolea de Baix: a tribute to the everyday mystery of "the lost sock".

• Finlàndia: a 45th anniversary "Crazy Laboratory" full of curious scientific elements.

• Galileu: a Hollywood-inspired set with its own walk of fame.

• Guadiana: a magical workshop with giant chocolates, cakes and croissants.

• Plaça de la Farga: inspired by the world of the film Lorax, with an eye on the environment.

• Papin: a historical journey back to the 1936 People's Olympiad in Berlin.

• Sagunt: under the slogan "Sagunt y punto", geometric figures born from a single point.

• Valladolid: the exotic landscapes of the historic Silk Road.

• Vallespir de Baix: a message championing a dignified, quality public school.

• Vallespir de Dalt: the world of the film Ratatouille, straight to the streets of Paris.

A map to keep you on track

To make visiting every street a smooth experience, this year's official Fiesta Mayor programme includes an illustrated map.
