Gunma's summer‑only nighttime art festival is here! Chibam Land, named after "Chiba Village" and the German word "Baum" (tree), is a magical paper‑cut light art space combining nature, art and local community regeneration. Created by renowned light‑cut artist Atsumi Sakai, accompanied by a custom‑composed score by saw player Hajime Sakita that blends in the local sounds of water, wind and animal calls, it breathes new life into a classic Showa‑era venue, expressing a gentle vision of harmony between humans and nature.

The park presents seven original video works at night, including themed chapters such as the Secret Tunnel, Prayer Star Tree, Forest Guardian, Kazena Hall, Aurora Forest and Otsumaki Museum, each about 7 minutes long. You can stroll at your own pace without any pressure to rush — green, yellow, purple and blue gradient projection mappings bloom alternately on walls, floors and ceilings, with layered paper‑cut style flowers, leaves, birds, animals and swirling light patterns, making you feel like you've stepped into a fairytale world. It's perfect for family outings and couple dates alike.

The event offers three limited summer time slots, held on weekends and public holidays at night from mid‑July to late September, with multiple sessions for flexible scheduling. The park car park opens 30 minutes early, and a free reserved shuttle bus is available from Mizukami Station to the venue, saving travel time significantly for a more hassle‑free outing. We recommend bringing your own lantern to stroll along the light corridor — the interplay of lantern light and projection mapping creates an immersive atmosphere.

Ticket purchase comes with an exclusive card‑style voucher for a simple and convenient entry process. A friendly reminder: the voucher must be swiped at the on‑site front desk on the day of entry; early swiping will be considered as used, so please use it at the right time. Leave behind the monotony of city nights — come to Chibam Land in Gunma and enjoy a healing art‑filled night walk surrounded by light, shadow and music.
