Most visitors to Mt. Fuji only stop at the foot of the mountain to gaze at the snow‑capped summit and sea of clouds, but never actually set foot on this world‑class volcanic wonderland. This tour features the Subashiri‑guchi (Gotenba‑guchi) climbing trail, a beginner‑friendly light‑challenge route. Starting from the 5th Station at 2,300m, you'll steadily ascend to the 7th Station at 2,900m, completing the round trip in a single day — perfectly suited to first‑time hikers and travellers seeking a restorative outdoor experience.

The journey begins with a visit to Kotakaku Shrine, located at the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station. This ancient shrine, tucked away in the mountains, is a renowned spiritual site on Mt. Fuji, regarded as a gateway to the celestial realm. The tranquil shrine atmosphere and time‑honoured cultural heritage lend this mountaineering adventure a unique sense of healing and ceremony that belongs only to Japan's sacred mountain.

Unlike the crowded and noisy popular summit routes, the Subashiri trail is serene and peaceful with exceptional views. The route passes through richly layered native forests and faces the magnificent volcanic landscape. With every step upward, you'll be rewarded with unobstructed panoramic mountain views. On the way to the 7th Station summit, you can gaze out over the rolling mountain ranges and clear skies, taking in Mt. Fuji's most pristine and majestic natural textures. On the return journey, enjoy the thrilling fun of the sandy downhill section, where the soft, loose sandy slopes offer a different kind of hiking pleasure — a truly fulfilling experience.

The entire itinerary maintains a relaxed pace with moderate difficulty, avoiding high‑intensity overnight climbs and crowded crowds. No rushing, no overnight stays in the mountains — you can enjoy both adventure and comfortable travel in a single day. Every step of the climb is a deep dialogue with Mt. Fuji, allowing you to personally experience the majestic grandeur and tranquil spirituality of this sacred mountain.
