Nan'ao Island is located in the waters at the junction of Guangdong Province and Fujian Province, and is a county consisting of islands. The main attractions on the island include Golden Silver Island, Qing'ao Bay, Huanghuashan National Forest Park, the General's Mansion, Song Well, and Diedie Rock.
The natural scenery of Nan'ao Island is unspoiled. As it is relatively undeveloped, the environment is well‑preserved, with many rocks, trees, and plants retaining their original appearance. The beach views are also beautiful, making it a popular spot for taking photos. In addition, there are some historical relics on the island that you can explore in your leisure time.

✅ Beginner Sea Fishing Tips
▪️ Best Time: 7‑10 AM, 4‑6 PM, the fish are most active
▪️ You can choose to release the small fish you catch to protect marine resources
▪️ You can take your catch to a seaside cookhouse for cooking; steaming or boiling is the freshest. Ask in advance whether the cooking fee is per catty or per serving.
▪️ Make sure to apply sun protection
The UV rays at the seaside are extremely strong! Make sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, a sun‑protective jacket, and sunscreen, or you'll get sunburnt in half a day.

Pre‑Trip Preparation
Sun Protection Gear: Sunscreen SPF50+, sun‑protective jacket/arm sleeves, a sun hat with a strap, sunglasses. The UV rays at sea are very intense.
Non‑Slip Footwear: Wear non‑slip sports shoes or water shoes. Sandals and high heels are strictly prohibited as the deck can be slippery and cause falls.
Seasickness Prevention: Take seasickness medicine 30 minutes in advance. Don't eat too much before boarding, and sit in the middle of the boat to reduce motion.
Clothing Suggestions: A long‑sleeved, breathable sun‑protective jacket (not loose‑fitting), and bring an extra jacket to protect against the sea breeze.

Common Catches
Grouper, sea bass, black seabream, yellowfin seabream, golden pomfret, rockfish, whiting, octopus, crab, etc. The success rate for sea fishing is about 70%, and it is affected by weather and tides, so a 100% guarantee of catching fish is not possible. It is recommended to focus on the fun of the experience.
Huanghuashan National Forest Park has a high mountain. Climbing to the top offers a panoramic view of the vast ocean. At the foot of the mountain, there are a few distinctive stone tortoises. The General's Mansion and Song Well are both historical relics. The former was built in the early Ming Dynasty and was later rebuilt in 1983 into the General's Mansion. Those interested in history can visit. The latter, as the name suggests, is a well dug during the Song Dynasty, with a long history. There is also Diedie Rock, a peculiar stone formation that looks like two huge rocks stacked on top of each other, very distinctive.

About Transportation
Nan'ao Island is not very big. You can reach all the attractions by cycling, renting a car, or self‑driving. There are also island tour bus routes you can take.

About Accommodation and Food
Accommodation on Nan'ao Island is mainly concentrated in the Xiwei Bay and Qing'ao Bay areas. Generally speaking, the environment is average. Xiwei Bay is located in the southeastern part of the island, close to the bus station and Song Well. Accommodations here are mainly homestays, and it's a good place to stay if you want to eat seafood. Qing'ao Bay is on the southwest side of Nan'ao Island. Changshanwei Pier is nearby, so if you come by ferry, you will be near Qing'ao Bay. It's better to stay here for sea views, and you can also see a beautiful island sunset in the evening.

The restaurants on the island are mostly seafood cookhouses. The seafood is abundant, fresh, and delicious, well worth a try.
