“If you don’t visit Xiqiao Mountain, you haven’t truly been to Lingnan.” Xiqiao Mountain covers an area of 13.03 square kilometres, with an altitude of 344 metres. It is one of the four famous mountains in Guangdong, a National Scenic Area, a National AAAAA Tourist Attraction, a National Forest Park, and a National Geopark. Renowned for its beautiful ecological environment and rich cultural heritage, it is known as the Beacon of the Pearl River Civilisation, the Famous Mountain of Lingnan, and the Mountain of Neo‑Confucianism. It has also been awarded titles such as Guangdong Province Primary and Secondary School Study Tour Practice Education Base and Guangdong Province Nature Education Base.

Attractions on the mountain, such as Tianhu Park, Biyu Cave, Cuiyan, Shiyan, Jiulongyan, Sifang Bamboo Garden, Camellia Garden, Peach Blossom Garden, Osmanthus Garden, Baiyun Cave, and Wong Fei‑hung Lion Dance and Martial Arts Hall, each have their own unique features and complement one another. At the foot of the mountain, the vast mulberry fish pond ecological agricultural landscape, covering over 10,000 mu, has been designated by UNESCO as a protected unit and praised as “a rare beauty in the world” and a model of virtuous ecological cycle.

Cuiyan
Cuiyan is located in the central part of Xiqiao Mountain. It is a funnel‑shaped canyon that is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. The main attractions within the scenic area include Wuye Well, Cuiyan, Cliff Inscriptions, Hulu Well, Xieyan Spring, and the site of Li Erqiao’s Study Room.

Biyu Cave
Biyu Cave is situated between the Zhu and Yu peaks in the northeastern part of Xiqiao Mountain. It is an east‑west trending cliff canyon. Both sides feature steep cliff walls with scattered trees and shrubs. The valley bottom is covered with jagged rocks, and the canyon path is rugged. There are caves within caves, creating a secluded and serene atmosphere, earning it the reputation of being “the finest scenic spot in the east of the mountain.” Attractions in the cave include Yuyan Pearl Waterfall, Tingyu Study Room, Yuxian Bridge, Chuiyun Rock, and East Tianhu Lake.

Baiyun Cave
Baiyun Cave is located at the northern foot of Xiqiao Mountain. First established during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, it is one of the 36 caves of Xiqiao Mountain and is known as the hub of the Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area. There is a saying: “To grasp the beauty of Xiqiao, first visit Baiyun Cave.” The entire cave is divided into three grotto heavens and twenty‑four scenic spots. Over the centuries, scholars, officials, and literati have left behind a wealth of cultural relics and historic sites in Baiyun Cave, including a number of Ming and Qing dynasty buildings and cliff inscriptions, such as Sanhu Academy, Kuiguang Tower, and the Chinese Character Mini‑Exhibition Hall. Among them, the Flying Waterfall of a Thousand Feet was listed as one of the “Eight Scenic Spots of Guangzhou” during the Qing Dynasty.

Wong Fei‑hung Lion Dance and Martial Arts Hall
The Wong Fei‑hung Lion Dance and Martial Arts Hall is located in Luzhou Village at the southwestern foot of Xiqiao Mountain, on the original site of the Wong Clan Ancestral Hall near Wong Fei‑hung’s former residence. The hall covers an area of 5.23 mu and construction began in 1996. The complex includes a bronze statue of Wong Fei‑hung, the Kwan Tak‑hing Memorial Hall, the Wong Fei‑hung Historical Exhibition Room, Bozhi Tang, and Baicao Tang. Four martial arts and lion dance performances are held daily at the Wong Fei‑hung Lion Dance and Martial Arts Hall, with showtimes at 9:30, 10:30, 14:30, and 15:30.
