Edinburgh Old Town Hosts Lantern Led Tours at The Real Mary King's Close This October

SaveVisitors in Edinburgh can experience the city's underground heritage this autumn through a special seasonal event. The Real Mary King's Close is running its Lantern Led Tours from 2nd October 2026 to 31st October 2026.
Tours take place daily between 6pm and 9pm, lasting for 1 hour. Participants descend beneath the Royal Mile at 2 Warriston's Close, Edinburgh Old Town EH1 1PG, carrying lanterns through the preserved underground streets. Led by a character portraying a former resident, the tour explores 17th-century life in the Old Town when buildings grew upwards within the Flodden Wall.

Age Restriction: Suitable for ages 5 and older; no children under 5 are permitted.
