Barcelona Launches RE/TURnCAT Regenerative Tourism Accelerator Programme
Barcelona has announced the launch of RE/TURnCAT, a regenerative tourism accelerator programme running from 01/09/2026 to 31/12/2026. In-person sessions are scheduled to take place in Barcelona, Cerdanya, and l’Escala, with exact venues still to be determined.
Organised by Resilience Earth and l'Associació Núria Social, the initiative targets mature public, private, or public-private tourism projects in Catalonia that are already operating. Rather than functioning as a conventional training course, the programme acts as an accompaniment process to help businesses, initiatives, and institutions rethink their role within local communities, territories, and ecosystems.

Programme Focus
The project moves beyond standard sustainability models by asking whether tourism can actively contribute to making a territory more vibrant. The framework focuses on creating initiatives that repair, care for, and strengthen local areas rather than simply reducing negative impacts.
Target participants: Established tourism projects seeking a strategic evolution
Organisers: Resilience Earth and l'Associació Núria Social
