Comparing Barcelona City Passes: Which One Fits Your Itinerary?
Deciding whether a tourist pass is worth the money depends entirely on your travel style and itinerary. Four different passes are currently available for visitors to Barcelona, each suited to a distinct type of traveller.

The Barcelona Card

Priced at €39, €57, €67, and €79 for 48 to 120 hours respectively, with children's tickets costing €33, €41, and €48, this official card includes unlimited public transport across metro, bus, tram, and the Rodalies zone-one network. It also grants free entry to multiple museums such as MNAC, the Picasso Museum, the Miró foundation, and MACBA, alongside 10 to 20 percent discounts at selected attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops. However, it does not include major sights like the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Casa Batlló, or La Pedrera. A 72-hour card costs €57, making it a good choice for museum-heavy trips lasting three days or longer, but poor value for classic first-time itineraries focused on architectural landmarks.
Go City Barcelona

This all-inclusive attraction pass starts at approximately €189 for two days. It covers major highlights that the Barcelona Card omits, including the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, the Camp Nou tour, hop-on hop-off buses, cable cars, and boat trips, but it does not include public transport. The break-even point requires a very fast sightseeing pace of roughly four paid attractions per day, making it ideal for maximisers rather than relaxed travellers.
Articket BCN

Costing €38 and valid for twelve months from first use, this pass provides skip-the-line entry to six art institutions: the Picasso Museum, the Fundació Joan Miró, MNAC, MACBA, the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, and the CCCB. Visiting three or more of these venues makes it financially worthwhile, offering total admissions valued around €70.
Hola Barcelona
Focused strictly on transport, this card is sold in 48, 72, 96, and 120-hour versions priced at €18.70, €27.30, €35.60, and €43.60. It offers unlimited metro, bus, tram, and zone-one Rodalies travel, and notably includes the L9 Sud airport metro and the R2 Nord airport train. It is a cost-effective option for travellers arriving by air who do not plan on visiting multiple museums.
