The hilarious SpongeBob SquarePants Fun Run 2026 is coming to Kaohsiung, bringing Bikini Bottom's top icons—SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Squidward, and the famous incidental fish—straight to the race track. Designed for runners, walkers, and anyone operating in low-battery mode, this themed fun run invites participants to leave their daily stress behind and embrace pure joy.

Hosted at the massive Kaohsiung National Stadium, the event promises a vibrant atmosphere filled with themed runner kits, photo opportunities, and post-race interactive zones.

Event Overview and Schedule

The Kaohsiung leg of the SpongeBob SquarePants Fun Run takes place on Sunday, 8 November 2026, running from early morning until mid-morning. It features a single relaxed category designed for participants of all fitness levels.

Race Categories and Entry Details

* Category: Move Forward in Life Group (前進吧人生組)

* Distance: 2.5 km

* Registration Fee: NT$1,580

* Capacity Limit: 6,000 participants

* Age Limit: Open to all ages. Children aged 6 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult aged 18 or older. Participants under 18 require an online parental/guardian consent form.

* Time Limit: 1 hour

Event Day Timeline (8 November 2026)

* 06:30 – 07:00: Bag Deposit & Runner Gathering

* 07:00 – 07:15: Bikini Bottom VIP Opening Remarks

* 07:15 – 07:25: Energetic Warm-up Session

* 07:30: Official Race Start

* 07:45: Starting Line Cut-off (Late starters will not be allowed to join for safety reasons)

* 09:00: Finish Line & Course Closure (Runners remaining on course must step aside and return to the main venue)

* 09:00 – 10:30: "Since You're Here" Life Experience Stations

* 10:30: Event Concludes

Official Course Route

The 2.5 km course is compact, flat, and ideal for families, casual joggers, and costumed fun runners.

* Start Line: Kaohsiung National Stadium (World Games Stadium)

* Course Flow: Turn left onto World Games Boulevard (Shiyun Blvd) following traffic direction → Turn right back towards Kaohsiung National Stadium

* Finish Line: Inside Kaohsiung National Stadium

Runners have a generous 1-hour time limit from the 07:30 start time to cross the finish line.

Exclusive Merchandise Packs & Finisher Rewards

Every registered runner receives an official pre-race race kit sent via courier prior to event day, along with exclusive finisher rewards to collect at the venue upon completing the course.

Pre-Race Runner Kit (Delivered by Mail)

The starter pack includes exclusive SpongeBob-themed gear for the race:

* Commemorative T-Shirt: Unisex sizing ranging from XS to 5XL (international standard tolerance ±3cm). Sizing selection is final upon registration payment and cannot be exchanged.

* Race Bib: Mandatory item to be pinned onto the chest on race day.

* Event Merchandise: Included inside the official pre-race package.

Finisher Gifts (Collected On-Site)

After crossing the finish line, runners can present their bib at the collection counter to claim their official finisher rewards, including a commemorative finisher medal.

Early Bird Group Registration Bonus

For groups of 2 or more registered and paid within the first 72 hours of registration opening (from 8 June 2026, 12:00 to 11 June 2026, 12:00), each runner receives one bonus pair of SpongeBob Life Stability Socks (One Size 23–28 cm). Socks come in three random designs and are delivered alongside the runner kit.

* Registration Window: 8 June 2026 at 12:00 until 31 July 2026 at 23:59 (or until sold out).

* Registration Platform: Online via the irunner website.

* Payment Methods: Credit Card, ATM Transfer (Hua Nan Bank virtual account, complete within 3 days), or Convenience Store Kiosks (7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Hi-Life, OK Mart using a 14-character code starting with LLL).

All race packs are delivered via post prior to the event. Courier costs depend on group size:

Cancellation Policy

* Phase 1 (On or before 10 August 2026): Full refund of entry and postage fee, minus a NT$100 administrative processing fee. Race pack will not be sent.

* Phase 2 (11 August – 8 October 2026): 60% refund of registration fee. Race pack will not be sent.

* Phase 3 (9 October – 7 November 2026): No standard refunds as items are dispatched. 50% refund available only for qualified emergency conditions (natural disasters, military service, injury/pregnancy, or immediate family bereavement with documentation).

Practical Tips

* Bag Drop Service: Available on-site on race morning from 06:30 to 09:30. No physical bag check cards are required; show your race bib to get a bag sticker attached. Items must be packed inside a single sealed bag per person. Do not leave valuables or fragile goods.

* Bib Requirements: The race bib must be pinned securely to the front of your shirt across all four corners. Unregistered runners without bibs are prohibited from entering the course.

* Hydration & Environment: Use the designated trash bins provided near water stations to dispose of paper cups responsibly.

* Safety Guidelines: Ensure adequate sleep the night before (7 November). Bring your health insurance card and photo ID on race day. If you feel unwell at any point, stop immediately and alert staff or medical personnel.
