New Interactive Experiences at Barcelona's Iconic Landmark

Barcelona's famous Basilica of the Sagrada Família has broadened its educational and family offerings, introducing fresh interactive tours and workshops aimed at younger visitors and families exploring the city.

The landmark recorded 145,213 students across 5,596 educational visits during the 2025–2026 academic year, marking a 7.2% increase compared to the previous period. Beyond standard sight-seeing tours, the UNESCO-listed Basilica has introduced hands-on initiatives designed to give visitors a more active, participatory experience with Antoni Gaudí's architectural heritage.

What to Expect on Family and Student Visits

Families travelling to Barcelona with children can now participate in a specialized workshop and visit focusing on the tower of Barnabas, an addition created to meet growing demand for family-friendly activities. For older youth, new secondary-school visits feature updated learning materials, alongside a technology workshop and a dedicated tower of Jesus Christ contest organized for Gaudí Year.

Primary-school groups have also been participating in a newly trialled pilot visit program. To help families and school groups prepare, a digital educational platform has been unveiled featuring games, video resources, and learning materials accessible prior to and following a visit to the Basilica.
