Bali Named the World's No.1 Travel Destination for 2026 by TripAdvisor
Bali has once again topped TripAdvisor's "Best of the Best" list of tourism destinations worldwide.
Travelers continue to fall for the island year after year, and the latest accolade confirms that real visitors are just as excited about a Bali trip in 2026 as ever.
Under TripAdvisor's Best of the Best Destinations award, Bali has officially been ranked the number one travel destination on the planet.
According to the platform, the Best of the Best title "celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel," honouring places that earn an exceptional volume of rave reviews from the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of eight million listings, fewer than 1% reach this milestone.

Bali took the top spot ahead of some heavyweight rivals. London finished second and Dubai third, while Hanoi claimed fourth and Paris fifth. The remainder of the global top ten featured Rome, Marrakech, Bangkok, Crete, and New York City.
TripAdvisor has been full of praise for the island. As the platform puts it, "Bali packs a lot into one small island — from breathtaking waterfalls like Sekumpul in the north to the white sand beaches of Nyang Nyang in the south."
It adds that whatever you are after, you will likely find it here: surfable waves at Batu Bolong, all-night clubs in Seminyak, luxury clifftop hotels in Nusa Dua, and spiritual retreats all around. Visitors can snap a photo at the Gateway to Heaven, trek through the jungle to the hidden Gunung Kawi Temple, or catch the sunset and a traditional fire dance at Uluwatu Temple.

Bali is pushing to welcome even more tourists in 2026, and this award is expected to keep drawing interest to the region for years. The island is a serial award-winner, with international acclaim that extends beyond the province itself to its tourism villages, hotels, villas, and attractions.
At the end of 2025, Pemuteran Village in Buleleng Regency received the UN World Tourism Organisation's World's Best Tourism Village Award. The head of Buleleng's tourism office, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, credited the village's hard work for the win and said the title should lift visitor numbers while benefiting the local economy, culture, and environment.
The World's No.1 Destination
TripAdvisor has just crowned Bali the "Best of the Best" for 2026 — and here is how to experience what made it win.
Top of the World
Beating London and Dubai
2026 Global Top Five
Fewer than 1% of eight million listings reach this milestone.
Kelingking Beach
Don't Just Make It a Day Trip
The perfect cultural day out
The Tabanan Loop
Beyond the trek
Stay in Kintamani
Most visitors hike Mount Batur and leave the same day — don't be one of them.
The move: book a glamping spot on the banks of Lake Batur to enjoy the stunning surroundings after the day-trippers have gone.
Bali was also recognised through Indonesia's 2025 Wonderful Indonesia Awards, with Karangasem Regency celebrating a landmark win as the Samsara Living Museum took second place in the Best National Tourist Attractions category.

TripAdvisor singled out the world-famous Kelingking Beach on Nusa Penida as one of Bali's top experiences for 2026, followed by Tanah Lot Temple and Mount Batur — all of which earn our seal of approval as must-visit attractions this year.
Kelingking Beach can be done as a day trip from Bali, but we recommend spending a couple of nights on Nusa Penida to also explore Diamond Beach and dive at Manta Bay.
Likewise, a trip to Tanah Lot Temple can easily become a full-day journey through Tabanan Regency's finest cultural heritage sites — starting at sunrise at the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, heading south to the Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest, and finishing at Tanah Lot for the late-afternoon sunset.
Mount Batur remains one of Bali's leading outdoor adventures, yet many tourists overlook the chance to stay a few nights in Kintamani.
With glamping camps dotted all along the shores of Lake Batur, it would be a shame not to make the most of this spectacular corner of Bali.
