The museum is divided into seven major sections: farming implements, folk customs, intangible cultural heritage, ancient books and newspapers, audio‑visual archives, plaques and couplets, and the Chaozhou Red Education Base, collecting nearly 10,000 items in total. It showcases the production and folk culture of the Chaozhou ancestors as its main theme, highlighting the distinctive culture, production, and living customs of Chaozhou folk customs. It is an "encyclopaedia" presenting the history of Chaoshan and the lives of its people.
