Tour Highlights

Yura River Bridge: A popular photo spot located in the Tango region of northern Kyoto! As the train runs across the bridge, it feels like gliding over the sea, stepping straight into the dreamy Ghibli scenes of Spirited Away — incredibly picturesque and perfect for photos.

Amanohashidate: One of Japan's Three Great Scenic Views, this 3.6km sandbar is lined with 7,000 pine trees, resembling a bridge reaching into the heavens. Climb to the observation deck for a breathtaking view of the "Dragon Ascending to Heaven," stroll through the pine forest listening to the waves, discover hidden springs, and witness the unique rotating bridge that turns 90° to let boats pass.

Ine Funaya: Known as the "Venice of Japan," 230 traditional boathouses (funaya) line the coast. Take a sightseeing boat to feed the seagulls, experience the harmony of coastal living, and drop by the quaint cafés along the shore — don't forget to check out Mukai Shuzo's dreamy pink sake.

Escape the urban hustle and bustle and embark on a full‑day journey brimming with Japanese romance and natural wonders — connecting five major delights: Ine Coffee, traditional funaya boathouses, the Tango Sea Train, the stunning Amanohashidate, and seagull feeding on the Ine Bay cruise. Every scene holds healing and surprises, unlocking the unique charm of Kyoto by the Sea and capturing your very own Japanese travel masterpiece.

At the start of the journey, head to Ine — "Japan's most seaside town" — where traditional funaya boathouses stand in neat harmony, with boats moored on the ground floor and living quarters above, the sea right at your doorstep, brimming with the rustic charm of a thousand‑year‑old fishing village. As you stroll through the nostalgic streets, the vintage boathouses beautifully complement the hidden cafés and sake breweries — every snapshot looks straight out of a Japanese drama. Step into Ine Coffee, a renovated funaya‑turned‑artistic space, where you can gaze out at the crystal‑clear Ine Bay while savouring local seasonal desserts, letting the sea breeze carry the aroma of coffee as you enjoy a moment of slow living.

Next, hop aboard the sightseeing boat to cruise across Ine Bay. The calm, pleasant waters and the highly transparent "Ine Blue" seawater shimmer like sapphires. From the boat, the funaya lining both shores blend with the azure sea to create a stunning tableau. Grab some bait and hand‑feed the swooping seagulls as they circle overhead — amidst laughter and joy, capture every beautiful moment and immerse yourself in the vibrant romance of this fishing village.

In the afternoon, head to the Tango Sea Train to unlock a dreamlike scene straight out of Spirited Away. The train runs just 5‑6 metres above the water, as if skimming across the sea, with century‑old stone bridge piers standing majestic and timeworn, and the rumble of the train echoing through the landscape. Whether you choose Route A to photograph the dreamy train or Route B to ride across the iron bridge, the pastoral scenery and Nagu Coast unfold before your eyes. The charming little Tango‑Yura Station and the unmanned stops along the way reveal the simple, rustic beauty of the countryside.

Finally, make your way to Amanohashidate — this sandbar formed by centuries of sediment is one of Japan's Three Great Scenic Views. From View Land, the sandbar appears as a dragon soaring between sky and sea, weaving with Aso Bay into a breath‑taking vista. Try the playful "leg‑spread viewing" (mata‑nozoki) to see the world upside down and discover unique delight; stroll along the pine‑shaded shore, watch the rotating bridge turn to let boats pass, pay a visit to the historic Chion‑ji Temple, and savour the famed "wisdom dumplings" (chie‑no‑mochi) at the temple front. With ample time to explore, immerse yourself in the beautiful blend of nature and culture.
