After a comfortable ride, arrive at Hida Takayama at 11:00‑13:00, enjoying 2 full hours to explore the renowned Takayama Old Town. Famous for its appearance in "Your Name," this former "castle town" of 16th‑century Takayama Castle is filled with wooden buildings, showcasing exquisite Hida wood carving craftsmanship and earning the nickname "Little Kyoto of Hida," with its antique charm even surpassing Kyoto in some ways.

After exploring the old town, head to Takayama Jinya — the only surviving shogunate district office in Japan — and glimpse the Edo‑period scenery within this national treasure heritage site. If time permits, browse the Miyagawa Morning Market, one of Japan's three great morning markets alongside Wajima and Katsuura. Freshly picked vegetables and handmade pickles abound; chat with local vendors in the Hida dialect and feel the authentic local atmosphere. Don't forget to try the must‑eat 5A‑grade Hida beef sushi.

14:00‑16:00, head to Shirakawa‑go, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and spend 2 hours deeply exploring this tranquil mountain village nestled at the foot of Mt. Haku. Here, over 110 gassho‑zukuri farmhouses stand together, their thatched gable roofs built without a single nail — a testament to the wisdom of ancient people in resisting the harsh winters. Stroll through the Gassho‑zukuri Farmhouse Garden, featuring 25 relocated traditional houses, a temple, water wheel huts, plus traditional craft demonstrations and soba‑making experiences. Climb to the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observation Deck for a panoramic view of the village. In autumn, the Doburoku Festival adds authentic local folk fun.

19:00, return punctually to Nagoya Station, bringing a perfect end to this one‑day trip. No need to worry about transport — immerse yourself in the rustic charm of Hida Takayama and the serenity of Shirakawa‑go, and encounter the most touching Japanese romance where culture and nature intertwine.
